Our approach
We want changing accountants to be straightforward. In most cases, the normal process of moving your accounting relationship to Blond Wolf is handled as part of your ongoing service.
What’s normally included
Standard switching and onboarding normally includes contacting your previous accountant once authorised, requesting professional clearance and handover information, reviewing the records received, confirming your business details, completing standard identity and AML checks and preparing your Blond Wolf engagement documentation.
Additional work
Occasionally a handover reveals work that falls outside a normal accountant-to-accountant transition. This may include significant bookkeeping backlogs, overdue accounts or returns, incomplete records, historical corrections, reconstruction work or other substantial catch-up work.
We will first assess whether the work can reasonably be dealt with within your ongoing service.
If a material amount of additional work requires a separate fee, we will explain what is required and confirm the price before that work begins.
Work you’ve already paid for
If you have already paid your previous accountant for work relating to the current accounting period, we will consider the usable work received during the handover.
This is assessed individually and may include completed bookkeeping, an appropriate trial balance or other accounting work that reduces the work Blond Wolf needs to perform.
Any adjustment is confirmed as part of your proposal or handover review.
We do not guarantee a refund or automatic credit for amounts paid to another accountant.
Your authority
We will only contact your previous accountant after receiving the authority required to do so.
You remain responsible for providing accurate information and helping us obtain any information that cannot reasonably be obtained from the previous accountant.
Timing
Switching times vary depending on how quickly information, authorisation and professional handover records are received.
We do not guarantee a fixed switching period.
No surprise additional work
We will not intentionally carry out material separately chargeable transition work without first explaining the scope and agreeing the additional fee with you.
Engagement terms
These Switching Terms explain our general approach to changing accountants. Your engagement letter and agreed service scope govern the accounting services we provide to you.
